“It’s kind of fun to do the Impossible.” -Walt Disney.

What if God said this to you?

I have this photo on my wall at work. When I first saw this quote, The Holy Spirit told me the Father was saying this to me!

“What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27

As a woman who believes in a God who does impossible things, I don’t want to miss out on any opportunities to partner with Him. When I heard this Walt Disney quote through Spiritual ears, it was an invitation from the Father to join in the fun.

I don’t want to live my life watching and hearing about Him doing things only through other people, simply because I never responded to His invitation. I used to live that way.

I’ve always believed God was a God of miracles.  I’ve always believed God made impossible things possible.  I’ve always believed the Scriptures.  I’ve believed people’s testimonies about God doing crazy things in their lives.  However, I didn’t always have faith that He wanted to do impossible things through me.

Granted, walking with the Spirit isn’t always fun.  Sometimes, our God of impossibilities asks us to walk through some impossibly horrible stuff.  He asks us to walk through heartbreak, death of loved ones, and hard life choices. He asks us to pray bold prayers and believe that they will come true.  He asks us to trust Him when it seems completely absurd.  Some things seem unfair, and some things seem ridiculous. Often, the results look nothing like we thought they would.

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

The more I learn about God, the more mysterious He becomes.  I enjoy the endless possibilities of discovery with God.  I’ll never understand why God does all the things He does.  While I never want to discount the hard processes on my journey with God, I don’t ever want to forget that a lot of the time, it can be ridiculously fun!

This isn’t a fire-burning-bush, Morgan-Freeman-deep-booming-voice-of-God thing.  This is a gentle-Walt-Disney-daddy-giggle, a father-confident-in-what-He-can-do-with-his-kid thing.

If your Daddy tells you “Its kind of fun to do the impossible,” you’re going to look back at him with big, excited eyes and expect Him to do something impossible!  That’s the kind of relationship I want to have with the Father. That’s why I taped the Disney photo quote on my wall.   I want to be right there with Him when He get’s ready to do something fun and crazy.

There’s great joy in knowing we have a Heavenly Father who makes impossible things possible, and He invites us along on the journey.

You are invited.

Sometimes, it can even be kind of fun.

  2. This is so great! It confirms what the Holy Spirit is teaching in my heart about Paul and his ministry/walking the impossible undeterred!
So glad Tim posted this on his blog so I would be blessed today! Will enjoy following you aka walking together seeing the spiritual messages in things of this world! 🙂

  3. Amen!! A very inspiring post!! I enjoyed reading it! 🙂 We must not limit what God can do in our lives. It’s so easy to take the road everyone travels and follow the crowd—just do the minimum—but God calls us to dream big and if the dream seems too big for us, then we got the right size dream. 🙂 Blessings!
